The Highlands Recreation Department runs several programs through out the year to foster activity and fitness for our youth and adults.

Kids on the Move is an after school drop - in program (September to June) that allows kids to participate in games, sports, exercise as well as arts & crafts.

Summer Kidfest is held July through August for Highlands children ages 6-14. Nutritional Breakfast and Lunch are served. There are sports, trips, games and crafts.

Adult Indoor Soccer runs from January through March at the HHRS Gym.

Adult Volleyball takes place during the Spring at the HHRS Gym.

Many other programs are offered, including Middle School and High School Teen Nights at the Community Center.

Breakfast with Santa Claus

The Highlands Recreation Dept. will be having their annual Breakfast with Santa Claus on Saturday, December 9th from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the Robert D. Wilson Memorial Community Center. Breakfast will include bagels, muffins, crumb cake, cereal, yogurt, fruit, hot chocolate, juice, and coffee. Please call 732-872-1959 for more information.

Winter Recreation Basketball

Registration is now open for Atlantic Highlands / Highlands Recreation Basketball. The program is open to children in grades Kindergarten through 6th. Grades 2nd - 6th will practice once a week with games on Saturdays. The cost is $70 per child. There will also be a Little Hoops Instructional Clinic for Kindergarten and 1st grade on Saturday mornings. The cost is $55 per child. Practice will start early December with more information to follow. Online registration runs from November 6th - December 10th at http://www.ahnj.com/ahnj/Recreation/ Coaches are needed. Please indicate desire to coach during registration. 

Kids on the Move Program

The Highlands Recreation Dept. will be having its Kids on the Move Program starting on September 18th at the Robert D. Wilson Memorial Community Center from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. This Program is for Highlands children ages 5-12 and will include a variety of games, sports, arts & crafts, and lots of fun. Registration forms are available at the Community Center, 22 Snug Harbor Ave. or by clicking the link below. If you've attended the program in the past, you STILL need to re-register for the new school year. The Program will run until June 13, 2018.

Holiday Helpers

The Highlands Recreation Dept. along with the Henry Hudson Key Club will be offering Free Child Care Service for busy Holiday shoppers on Saturday, December 2nd from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Robert D. Wilson Memorial Community Center. This program is for Highlands and Atlantic Highlands children ages 5 - 11 and will include games, activities, arts & crafts, and snack. Please send your child with a bagged lunch. You must Pre-Register by November 29th by calling 732-872-1959. Spaces are Limited. You will also need to fill out a Registration Form at the time you drop your child or children off.
