The Highlands Recreation Department runs several programs through out the year to foster activity and fitness for our youth and adults.
Kids on the Move is an after school drop - in program (September to June) that allows kids to participate in games, sports, exercise as well as arts & crafts.
Summer Kidfest is held July through August for Highlands children ages 6-14. Nutritional Breakfast and Lunch are served. There are sports, trips, games and crafts.
Adult Indoor Soccer runs from January through March at the HHRS Gym.
Adult Volleyball takes place during the Spring at the HHRS Gym.
Many other programs are offered, including Middle School and High School Teen Nights at the Community Center.
Easter Egg Hunt and Candy Bingo
The Highlands Recreation Department will be having their Easter Egg Hunt and Candy Bingo on Sunday, March 18th at the Community Center Beach. The Egg Hunt will begin at 1:00 p.m., weather permitting, starting with the youngest age groups first. Egg Hunt groups are as follows: Children ages 2 and under; ages 3 and 4; ages 5 and 6; ages 7 and 8; and an Adult group. Candy Bingo will begin around 2:00 p.m. for Children ages 9 - 17. Prizes will be awarded and refreshments served at the Robert D. Wilson Memorial Community Center. RAIN DATE: If canceled on March 18th, the Egg Hunt will take place on Sunday, March 25th at 1:00 p.m. and Candy Bingo will be held at 2:00 p.m.
Sandy Hook Little League Registration
Registration is now open for Sandy Hook Little League Baseball and Softball. Please visit http://www.theshll.com/shll/ and click on Player/Coach Account in red to register. Adult Indoor Soccer
The Highlands Recreation Dept. will be offering Adult Open Gym Indoor Soccer on Tuesday evenings from January 9, 2018 - March 27, 2018 from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. at the Henry Hudson Regional School Gym. (No Program on January 23rd.) All participants must register with the Recreation Dept. You must be at least 18 years old to play and you can register on-site the night you attend. High School Teen Night
The Highlands / Atlantic Highlands Municipal Alliance and the Highlands Recreation Dept. will be having High School Teen Night for Grades 9-12 on Friday, February 23rd from 7:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. at the Highlands Communty Center. Kids on the Move Program
The Highlands Recreation Dept. will be having its Kids on the Move Program starting on September 18th at the Robert D. Wilson Memorial Community Center from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. This Program is for Highlands children ages 5-12 and will include a variety of games, sports, arts & crafts, and lots of fun. Registration forms are available at the Community Center, 22 Snug Harbor Ave. or by clicking the link below. If you've attended the program in the past, you STILL need to re-register for the new school year. The Program will run until June 13, 2018.
