The Highlands Recreation Department runs several programs through out the year to foster activity and fitness for our youth and adults.

Kids on the Move is an after school drop- in program (September to June) that allows kids to participate in games, sports, exercise as well as arts & crafts.

Summer Kidfest is held July through August for Highlands children ages 6-14. Nutritional Breakfast and lunch are served. There are sports, trips, games and crafts.

Adult Indoor Soccer runs from December to March at the HHRS Gym.

Adult Volleyball takes place during the Spring at the HHRS Gym.

Many other programs are offered, including Middle School and High School Teen Nights at the Community Center.

Seasonal Positions Available

The Borough of Highlands Recreation Dept. is now accepting applications for the following Part Time Seasonal Positions: Summer Recreation Supervisors, Programmers, Aides, Summer Food Program Food Preps, and a Health Director. Applications are available at the Community Center, 22 Snug Harbor Ave. or online at , under Recreation Dept. For more information, please call 732-872-1959 or email . Highlands - Sea Bright Lifeguard Positions

As part of a Shared Service Agreement signed with the Borough of Sea Bright, Lifeguards will be provided to guard our two beaches this summer, Miller Street Beach and Snug Harbor Beach. Any Highlands residents interested in a Lifeguard position should apply directly to Sea Bright. Please click link below for instructions and more information.

Teen Night

The Highlands / Atlantic Highlands Municipal Alliance & the Highlands Recreation Dept. will be having High School Teen Night for grades 9-12 on Friday, April 21st from 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm at the Community Center. Kids on the Move

The Highlands Recreation Dept. will be having its Kids on the Move Program starting on September 19th at the Robert D. Wilson Memorial Community Center from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.This is a Drop In Recreation Program for Highlands children ages 5-12 and will include a variety of games, sports, arts & crafts, and lots of fun. Registration Forms are available at the Community Center, 22 Snug Harbor Ave or by clicking the link below. If you've attended the program in the past, you STILL need to re-register for the new school year. The Program will run until June 14, 2017.
